At McCartney Studios, we have very specific tools for music and voice mastering. We like to call it: ‘Make Your Music Radio Friendly.’
We also master finished movie soundtracks with music, sound effects and voice over, you’ll be amazed when you hear the difference!
At the link are some examples of music projects where you can hear the ‘Before’ and ‘After’ versions of the original and mastered audio.
Mastering is the final stage of audio production—the process of putting the finishing touches on a song by enhancing the overall sound, creating consistency across the album, and preparing it for distribution. Mastering a song involves taking a mix and putting the final touches on it by elevating certain sonic characteristics. This can involve aspects like adjusting levels, applying stereo enhancement, and monitoring for clicks and pops–anything that could distract the listener from the music. The end result is a polished, clean sound that is optimized for consistent playback across different formats and systems.
McCartney Audio Books
McCartney Studios just recently created an audio book for author Marshall Terrill.
With over 31,000 audio cuts this was quite an undertaking.

Zora Folley - The Distinguished Life And Mysterious Death Of A Gentleman Boxer
Everyone who knew professional boxer Zora Folley called him a gentleman. Even Muhammad Ali, who fought Folley in Madison Square Garden, withheld his usual pre-fight insults. This true crime story cracks the cold case of Folley's untimely death in the swimming pool of a sketchy motel. On a hot July night in 1972, when he should have been home with his faithful wife, Zora Folley was instead partying with his mistress and a shady celebrity hanger-on at a motel in Tucson, Arizona. He died that night, his head crushed, the only witnesses claiming it was an accident that occurred when the agile ex-boxer slipped and hit his head on a concrete divider in the pool.
The police bought that story. No charges were filed, despite Folley's friends and family suspecting he had been murdered. Then the autopsy report and the police report vanished. A cover-up?
Decades later, a local reporter, Marshall Terrill, picked up the case. His investigation challenged the authorities, opened old wounds, and finally led to proof of how Zora Folley died that night.

Nick Black and his drummer Casey stopped by at the McCartney residence for a well-needed change of pace for us. As you can see, we had too much fun!

our Culinary Talent roster
Congratulations to Chef G for winning the James Beard Award 2023 for ‘Best Chef Texas’ - an amazing feat for this Thai Native and adopted Houstonian, who runs Street To Kitchen with husband Graham Painter in HTX. They are also partnered with the “Willy Wonka” of food, Chef David Skinner of @eculent, and the threesome has recently opened @ThPrsrv in Kemah - a journey through pre-colonial ingredients and historic dishes from each chef’s background, in particular, Choctaw and Thai.
Both Chef G and Chef Skinner will be appearing at The Anti-Convention by ChefsRoll to be held at Town & Country Resort in San Diego September 17th thru 19th, 2023.

GEIST ‘WE WON’T BREAK’
WE WON’T BREAK - BENEFITTING THE MAUI MERRIMANS MONKEYPOD FOUNDATION
Featuring: Martin Nethercutt, Benna McCartney, Ruth McCartney and Dr. Angie McCartney
The song ‘We Won’t Break’ started in September of 2022.
I didn’t have a real direction for this, but the song was growing on me.
The guitar riff gave it a kind of ‘Pink Floyd’ vibe and I repeated it for the main melody structure of the song.
As it came time for lyrics and vocals, I was inspired by the music starting to turn out like a ‘torch song.’
Ruth suggested at the time that it could be cool sounding if we had her neice, Benna McCartney on the track singing the second verse and Ruth singing the third verse. I agreed and sent Benna the music over to the U.K.
It took a couple of weeks to get the vocal track back. and I used that time to finish out my lead vocal.
Then it came time to finish the chorus. The song really started to build. I even persuaded Mum-in-Law Dr. Angie McCartney to join in on the chorus and she accepted!
Now, for the first time in musical history, we have 3 generations of McCartney women on this song and I’m super excited about that.
Then, the Maui and Lahaina fires disaster happened. Our song was about to be released. We just had to stop and change it around.
It suddenly made sense to build the song’s video around the 150 year old Banyan tree in Lahaina, that was burned badly, but is still standing.
So, the result is that we decided to donate 100% of the song’s publishing royalties to the victims of this tragic disaster, and at the suggestion of Supermensch himself, Shep Gordon, we will be directing the funds from streams and downloads to the Merrimans Monkeypod Foundation.
