FOOD FOR UKRAINE - ARTISTS FEEDING CHILDREN

Back in 1995 these celebrity recipes were donated for a charity cookbook which was never published. Given the current starvation situation around the world, especially with children, Gourmet NFT has resurrected this project and now 100% of the net proceeds to the publisher “Artists Feeding Children” will be donated to Chef José Andres’World Central Kitchen” to aid in their amazing good works in Ukraine, as well as around the world. We’d like to sincerely thank these artists for their culinary contributions. By downloading these recipes, you are helping too, and it’s much appreciated. The NFTs largely consist of their old faxed original plus in most cases, the signed contract page – a true heirloom for sure!

GENRES: Music | Feminism | History
AUDIENCES: Music History Buffs
FORMAT: 30-minute TV Series (there are over 500 subjects in the research)

©2022 & WGA Registered

Ever wondered who was the inspiration behind the syncopation? Who's That Girl is a TV series that delves into the REAL stories behind the mega hits, and how these women became part of history and pop culture by virtue of their circumstance, name and powerful influence over some of our favourite composers and lyricists.

DYK?

  • That Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” was a redhead bank teller who flirted with Dolly’s husband Carl Dean?

  • That Lucy in The Sky With Diamonds was schoolgirl Lucy Vodden - Julian Lennon’s schoolfriend and the subject of a drawing he took home to John?

  • That “Valerie” made famous by Amy Winehouse refers to an American friend of writer Dave McCabe's who was in trouble for driving under the influence? The band's drummer, Sean Payne, called it a "musical postcard to her, saying he is having a hard time and can she come over and see him." In an interview with Vice magazine in June 2019, Valerie was revealed to be celebrity makeup artist Valerie Star. She explained that she met McCabe and how she got arrested for driving on a suspended license.

  • That “Alice’s Restaurant” by Arlo Guthrie refers to the Chez Panisse restaurant owned by Chef Alice Waters, the creator of California Cuisine but that it plays no role in the story aside from being the subject of the chorus?

MAY PANG DOCUMENTARY | THE LOST WEEKEND

She was just a kid growing up in Spanish Harlem in the 1960s, the American-born daughter of Chinese immigrants who went to Catholic school, hated studying and fell in love with all things rock & roll, especially The Beatles. So when May Pang landed a gig at Apple Records, which quickly became working exclusively with John and Yoko as their full-time personal assistant, she found herself living a life beyond even her wildest dreams, all at the tender age of 19. Yet when the couples’ marriage began to disintegrate, Yoko convinced their young (i.e., easy to control) assistant that she was the safest bet to date a newly single John. Quickly the pair began what the singer would call his “Lost Weekend,” an 18-month-long whirlwind romance that took the two to the center of the madness of L.A.’s music scene, reunited a newly sober Lennon with his long-estranged son Julian, and reconnect the former Beatle to his love for rock & roll, and all as the new couple fell ever deeper in love.

With unbelievable access to rich archival footage, rarely-heard home recordings, and a collection of Lennon’s own quirky, evocative sketches, famed writer and music executive May Pang takes us on a deeply emotional journey through the 18 months that would shape her life and reinvigorate one of the greatest figures in music. Featuring interviews with famed rocker Alice Cooper, Apple Records manager Tony King, and legendary drummer Jim Keltner, and leading to a surprising and emotional ending, The Lost Weekend: A Love Story is a funny, touching and vibrant portrait of first love, produced and directed by Eve Brandstein, Richard Kaufman and Stuart Samuels. --Cedar Sherbert

Artists We Love and Support

Over the years we have been involved with many musical events, releases, website and fan club creations, and have met artists from all genres of music. Today, with streaming & social media, it is a whole new ball of wax to successfully navigate the world that is the music industry. McCartney is here to help. Below is a short showcase, we hope you like what you see:

Edgar Winter - Brother Johnny

Darling of Spotify & The Billboard Blues Chart - Brother Johnny - Edgar Winter & Friends, produced by Ross Hogarth for Quarto Valley Records.

Large-cast all-star tribute albums are usually a buyer-beware proposition. Too often they’re slapdash and unfocused, a concept put together in somebody’s office that looks good, or at least potentially good, on paper but doesn’t quite gel in the studio. Brother Johnny, fortunately, is a rare exception. Eight years in the making, it’s a musical love letter from Edgar Winter to his older brother Johnny, the blues-rock great who died in 2014 at the age of 70.

Produced by industry veteran Ross Hogarth, it’s big – 17 tracks, 76 minutes – and filled with A-list names, especially on the guitar front. But Brother Johnny is a true labor of love, and every second is filled with a genuine passion and regard for a guy who, despite no longer being still alive and well, left a great deal of excellent music that’s still with us and gets its proper due on this tribute. More than 50 years on, some rock fans may not recall or may have never known about the impact Johnny Winter made when he emerged from Beaumont, Texas, getting a recording contract – reportedly for a record advance of $600,000 – after Mike Bloomfield invited him to jam with him and Al Kooper at the Fillmore East.

Nick Black on West Coast Tour

Nick Black is a fun, optimistic, and authentic artist from Memphis, TN. Influenced by the feel-good music of Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars, and the musicality of legacy acts such as Al Green and Sting, Nick has created his music to sound modern and unique, yet familiar and nostalgic.

His stage presence as an entertainer is quite something to behold. Nick pulls the audience in and doesn’t let them go. He creates an experience that he wants everyone to be part of. Pulling people up from the crowd, singing to a fan in the front row...everyone's included. He grew up between two worlds: his family’s deep ties to church, and his hometown of Memphis where Soul, RnB, Rock N’ Roll, and Blues legends made names for themselves, Black’s sound is an organically grown phenomenon, honed at open mic nights, in church, at hundreds of club gigs, and now on larger stages across the USA.

Paul McCartney ‘Got Back’ Tour Dates 2022

Paul McCartney returned to the road last week in Spokane, Wash., where he launched his 2022 Got Back Tour.
The concert marked the former Beatles star’s first live performance in more than two years.

He began the show with 1964’s “Can’t Buy Me Love,” kicking off an evening that included numerous other Beatles favorites. “Getting Better” and “You Never Give Me Your Money” had not been played live since 2003, according to Setlist.fm. McCartney also performed “She Came in Through the Bathroom Window” for the first time since 2008, as well as a selection of Wings and solo material.

GEIST - ‘One World Guitar’

MEET EMILY

Made with love and technical perfection, I was finally able to get my hands on this beauty. I named her ‘Emily’, although she better known as ‘The One World’ guitar. A Fender based structure, fine young maple wood, pristine electronics, completed by master builder, Renato Giordano, Founder and CEO of Rock and Blue Guitars, she is now ready for recording on GEIST Book of Light.

So many times I have played all kinds of guitars, but honestly, this one feels special in my hands. Light weight (so it won’t break your shoulder by the end of the night), its body feels very comfortable, and its neck makes it easy for fingers to slide over. It’s a fantastic piece of art and I hope it will serve me well for years to come.

Cheers,
Martin

TEAFLIX TUESDAY WITH GTOM MAC

Widely recognized for writing, singing and creating the masterpiece "Cry Little Sister,” as the theme song to the cult classic film “The Lost Boys," G Tom Mac (aka Gerard McMahon) hits the right notes with a deep and provocative artistic career of creativity. Fed up with the music scene's "business," when the film was released in 1987, he stopped touring and took a little time off.

It was then, after years of having his real name mispronounced that he changed it from Gerard McMahon to G Tom Mac. Time was kind to G Tom Mac as he went on to write songs for legendary singers such as Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin and Roger Daltrey of The Who. Additionally, an array of contemporary Hip Hop artists, such as Ice Cube and Digable Planets, as well as KISS, Carly Simon and Eminem started to cover G Tom Mac's songs. G Tom Mac earned a Grammy on Eminem’s "Recovery" album in which Eminem sampled him on the song "You're Never Over."

With more than 50 films & 100 TV shows of music to his credit, such as “Fast Times at Ridgemont High,” “Chasing Amy,” "All the Right Moves," and "The Banger Sisters;" G Tom Mac’s music continues to be sought after and licensed for projects around the globe. "Staying fresh and being true to my fans in creating believable music that they feel from me. That's my thrill,” says G Tom Mac about his music and motivation. Now, he is proud to complete his best work yet— “A Lost Boys Story—The Musical” a soundtrack and Broadway-bound production. Get ready - the musical journey begins here!
